Students will create projects and study existing digital projects, with a special focus on U.S. History in a global context.\u00a0 Readings will include primary sources as well as recent contributions to theory in digital humanities. We will learn general principles of working with humanistic data as well as techniques such as building online exhibitions, digital mapping, and computational analysis of text.<\/p>\n<p>We consider many questions: What makes a good historical question?\u00a0 How can we use digital tools to analyze primary and secondary sources to help us answer historical questions?\u00a0 How do digital technologies change or help the communication of historical narratives and interpretations?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This course introduces students to methods used in the digital humanities, with a special emphasis on applications to historical studies.
